SMPTE Annual conference is off to a superb start!
this week started the annual SMPTE conference in Hollywood California. But for the Hollywood chapter it started a few days earlier with our student tech conference on Saturday the 21st. We had 80 students came to Woodberry University and met with leaders in our industry from NBC Universal, Disney, DreamWorks, Advantage Video Systems and many others.
On Monday the 24th the SM PTE conference kicked off at the Hollywood and Highland conference center. The conference brought together some of our most renowned technical leaders from the motion picture broadcast and cable industries. Monday's schedule included a phenomenal demo some of the newest camera systems from Sony, Arri, canon, Red and talked about the difference between single and three sensor systems. Emphasizing the practical limitations and benefits of each. Our team was on hand to lend what help was needed. It was also a nice boxed lunch from the good folks at Wolfgang Puck's and lots of networking opportunities with some of our SMPTE partners.
Tuesday also has some very distinct clocks which I will elaborate with as the conference continues. Also today brought us the technical tradeshow with exhibitors from all over our industry. Please look back here later this week for more information on the conference.
